Grapat is a small family project that came to life when founders Jordi and Casiana left the city with their young family to live in the beautiful countryside in Catalunya, Spain.
Specialising in the most beautiful open ended loose parts that allow children to express their own imagination.
Grapat believe play should be respected and protected and that children should be offered quiet uninterrupted space for true play to occur.
Inspired by Nature
Grapat are inspired by the colours in nature and how they connect us to the seasons and our emotions.
Each piece of Grapat is lovingly hand painted. Non-toxic water-based dyes penetrate deep inside each piece and allow the unique character of the timber to be celebrated.
All Grapat finishes are made with waxes and oils of vegetable origin.
All materials comply with the safety regulations of the EN71-1/2/3.
Sustainable
Grapat uses wood from sustainable forests, and it is the wood that is their inspiration. “It is robust, soft and hard, it is warm, it sounds good, and it smells good.”

Grapat eliminated 100% of the plastic from their packaging in 2019 to contribute to the reduction of waste on the planet.
The cloth storage bags that are included in some of the Grapat range are made from fabric discarded by big companies because of small defects. Grapat make the bags by hand upcycling the fabric to give it a second life.
